- Fire – Heart/Small Intestine – Spicy – Red
- Earth – Spleen/Stomach – Sweet – Yellow & Orange
- Metal – Lung/Colon – Bitter – White & Gray
- Water – Kidney/bladder – Salty – Blue, Black & Purple
- Wood – Liver/GB – Sour – Brown & Green
These are the quick correspondences for the remainder of the series. By the 5th part we can discuss the Properties.
My main recommendation – for anyone wanting to lose weight and curb calories – is to focus on the diversity of the diet, and achieving a good nutritional balance, with a belief that this will reduce cravings and self-medication via food. It’s important to deal with underlying anxiety & depression. Acupuncture and herbs are great for this. So come in and try those out. But after all, how about prevention?
Try this out. Go to MyFitnessPal or similar, and start journaling/tracking your meals. Then… print it out… and look at the colors. Are you getting too much of any color, especially white? A high starch, high sodium and/or sugar diet is a recipe for wealth and heart disease, diabetes etc.
So make some adjustments, and observe the effects for a full three months.
